Ellen Grote Beverborg

We have a small painting by Ellen Grote Beverborg. It is a landscape with trees that slowly fade into a dark background. It is not a forest as you know it. Grote Beverborg has applied many transparent layers to the canvas, some of which are very impasto and lie thickly on top. This makes the work more abstract. She herself writes about an ethereal intermediate world, a world behind reality. Of course, you can view the work from that perspective and give it meaning. But even without that meaning, it is a fascinating little work that touches on abstraction.
